Dr. Kazue Sako studies cryptographic protocols that enhance privacy and fairness, e.g. electronic voting protocols, anonymous authentication schemes, digital lottery systems and blockchain architecture. She is an Expert in ISO TC 307 (Blockchain and Distributed Ledger Technology) and ISO/IEC JTC1 SC27 WG5( Identity and Privacy). She served as Program co-Chair/ Chair for ASIACRYPT, RSA conference Cryptographer's Track, Financial Cryptography and Data Security, PKC and ESORICS. She is a member of the Science Council of Japan, and was the 26th president of Japan Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics. She is a board member of Sovrin Foundation and MyDataJapan.
