Hiroshi Okada has been assigned to the current position since July, 2018. He is responsible for regulation of banking, insurance and payment in Japan. He joined the Ministry of Finance (“MOF”) in 1993, and since 2002, has held various positions on supervision and financial regulations at the Financial Services Agency (“JFSA”). Outside of Japan, he worked also in Germany, at the IFO economic research institute in Munich (visiting researcher) as well as at the Embassy of Japan in Berlin. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B.) at the University of Tokyo in 1993.
