Biography

Michinobu is currently a BOJ’s team leader of Project Stella. Before assuming the current position, he was General Manager of Maebashi Branch. Since 2003, for about 10 years he was involved in prudential policy and resolution strategy of global banks. He joined the bank in 1991 and held positions in various areas including the Bank’s Chief Representative Office for the Americas, Information System Services Department, and Operations Department.

Project Stella is a BOJ/ECB joint research project to study the possible use of distributed ledger technology (DLT) for financial market infrastructures (FMIs). The session begins with the introduction of the Stella phase 3 report, followed by a panel discussion exploring the future of DLT and FMIs.
